Prevention is better than cure.
A study by Aric Prather et al. (2015) published in the Sleep journal concerns the relationship between sleep and getting a cold. After measuring volunteers'sleep and then exposing them to rhinovirus, scientists concluded that the chances of catching a cold increased for those who slept less than 6 hours a night.
Citing other studies, researchers explain that sleep and circadian rhythms regulate our immune system. So when we don't get enough sleep, the normal functioning of our immune system is compromised. Help your body fight infections by getting at least 7 hours of sleep.
